In a Maasai, the pecking order is men, cows, boy children, and last women. Men often abandon women and the family for no cause and leave her with no money, job skill, or any ability to support herself. Our goal is to teach women valuable life skills and create opportunities that will enhance their future and generate cash flow for the family.
EAI will assist these women with training on how to grow a vegetable garden to provide nutritional food for the family. Some of these women have will be able to sell their crop for cash and buy goats which is a source of milk and “riches” in this culture. Soon we will have classroom training to enrich their cooking skills, crop planning and financial management. We will also help women create a micro bank to lend one another money for start up ventures.
We are committed to helping break the cycle of poverty in East Africa by providing a better education for adolescent girls. Education brings hope, an opportunity for equality, a chance to achieve a better quality of life and a better future for all.
